Start with the way the door is used
A busy storefront on Fordham Road faces a different routine from an office entrance that is opened a few times a day. Frequent use, multiple keyholders and the need to secure the premises after closing all matter when assessing a fault.
Describe the door and what has changed. Does the key turn without moving the bolt? Does the handle work from only one side? Is the door hard to pull closed? Those details help separate an access problem from a worn part or a door alignment issue.
LockReach provides mobile locksmith help for business lockouts, compatible rekeys and lock repair or replacement. Work on specialist access equipment needs its own scope check. A locksmith call does not automatically cover an alarm, powered operator or every type of shutter.
When the key list has outgrown the staff list
A former employee's key is easy to forget until closing time. Rekeying suitable locks may let you retire old keys without replacing sound hardware. Before the visit, identify the doors involved and who should be allowed through each one.
One key for several doors can be convenient, but only when the locks are compatible and that arrangement fits the business. The office, stockroom and main entrance may need different access. A clear plan prevents a quick change from creating a new problem next week.
If you rent the premises, agree on the work with the person responsible for the door. Some storefront hardware belongs to the tenant; other parts are controlled by the landlord or managing agent. Having the decision-maker available keeps the job moving.
Make room for the visit
Along busy shopping streets, the number over the front door may not identify the loading entrance or the door that needs attention. Give the entrance location and a nearby cross street. If deliveries, customers or building access limit the working area, explain that when arranging the visit.
For planned work, tell us your opening hours and the period when the door can be checked. For an urgent lockout, call for current availability. We do not put a fixed arrival time on a web page because traffic, location and the job itself affect it.
Before work starts, discuss the proposed repair, any replacement parts and the price. Afterwards, check the operation from both sides with the relevant keyholders present if possible. For a recurring sticking lock, our lock repair guide explains why the door and frame need attention too.
